Strong and Courageous

Abe Lincoln once said,"Those who are critical of my goals and dreams simply do not understand the higher purpose to which I have been called. Therefore, their scorn does not affect my attitude or action. I forgive their lack of vision and I forge ahead. I now know that criticism is part of the price paid for leading past mediocrity."

What a powerful statement. I know that my dreams and goals are small compared to some, but they are mine none the less. What great inspiration to be your best self no matter what. I saw this quote on the website of the woman who did a re-make the following video.

I had just watched "Joseph Smith-Real Superman" on youtube. I watched it before, when I was first called as Young Womens President. I wept when I saw it. I watched it again to see if it fit for New Beginnings this month. We are using a Super Hero theme to go along with our theme this year:"Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest" (Joshua 1:9)

We want our girls to recognize the strength they have in them. So my question to you is this: What makes you strong and courageous? It's a tough question. Share it on a comment if you want.

Me? I had to think a lot about this question because if I couldn't answer it, how could my young women? So, I am strong and courageous when I pay my tithing, recognizing that it is not MY money in the first place. I am strong and courageous when I refrain from gossiping. But most of all I am WEAK and the Lord Jesus Christ makes me STRONG.

Here's the video if you want to watch it.
